【Travel in America #10】Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum | USS Constitution

Introduction

The Gardner Museum was a unique museum founded by a woman and has a signature central garden surrounded by a categorized exhibition.

Massachusetts Historical Society

The museum is located around Back Bay Fens, close to the Gardner Museum and Fine Art Museum. While this museum is entrance-free, check-in at the reception is required. The inside was 2 stories and it took 30 min to walk around.

Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum

The garden in the center of the museum is particularly famous. But this is only one portion of a huge collection. The palace-like exhibition surrounds the garden and we can enjoy photogenic art with a garden view.

This is the portrait of the founder of Isabella Stewart, and her life was so dynamic as she traveled around the world and created this museum with a passion for delivering art to the public. The exhibition style is like THE MET and the content of the exhibition is large enough to spend several hours inside.

This dress is made of paper, but still has fine detail and is preserved in good condition. The exhibition was the same as she organized a hundred years ago, directly reflecting her vision.

USS Constitution

USS Constitution is a museum operated by donation, we can choose the admission. While more than a $10 donation is suggested, deciding the price after you check the exhibits is possible. The USS Constitution Young was closed for some reason but they have one more ship we can actually ride.

The exhibition is not as large as other museums, but they have two movies that reflect sailor's emotions and the history of the ship.

Back Bay Fens

Surprisingly, even in the middle of the city, the natural creature resides around the park. The squirrels were so cute and swiftly climbed up the tree.

Ice sculpture

The ice sculptures were placed on December 31 across Boston City. They were placed 3 days before and started to melt because of this year's particularly hot winter, however, it was still keeping its shape.

Each sculpture represented the features of the site and a few of them were lighted up nicely.

Scenery

International terminals tend to be attractive and BOS is no exception. The red curved surface with diamond-shaped grass was attractive beautifully reflecting the sunlight.

Food

This Mexican meal is available at Chipotle and is relatively cheap compared to other meals. It was $16 and the volume was impressive.

This is fried rolled sushi which is an American arrange of sushi. It was the first time to tried it and it was not as good as a genuine one but it also had a nice taste. The ingredient seemed to be available in Japan, so can be a good alternative for Japanese raw fish.

Conclusion

If we go to multiple museums, it's important to care about differentiation to get brand-new insight every time. The museum side is unpredictable by Google Maps, but it's definitely worth going where everyone recommends. Usually, the art museum takes the form of painting or scripture. However, that is not the only format of expression. We tend to forget how our sight is trapped within what is considered to be normal. To resolve this, it's a good idea to try something I have never experienced and believed to be ridiculous. Hear the opinions who have rarely been involved before.
