【Travel in America #5】Old State House, City Hall

Introduction

I traveled to many historical sites in Boston city center. While some are free and some are charged, the quality of the exhibition is not truly related to its price. The best exhibitions in Boston tend to be free like the Public Library, Harvard Arts Museum, and City Hall.

City Hall

Most people might think city hall is not open to normal people, but in Boston, we can tour inside of it. Even though there is a security check, however, it's completely free and comes with a regular free tour. This city hall has been expanded over several centuries and we can explore multiple styles of architecture.

Faneuil Hall

This free-entry heritage is close to the market and on the 2nd floor of the Faneuil Hall building. There will be an additional museum on the 4th floor, but unfortunately, it was closed.

Museum of Medical History and Innovation

[: plain] This museum is right next to the hospital and is completely free. But the location is somewhat inconvenient and not so big.

Old State House

This is the place where the Boston massacre happened and led to America's independence. While this house is relatively small, it has significant meaning over American history. This museum and Old South Meeting House have a shared ticket and $14 for students. Although both exhibitions are small, but historical meaning is significant.

Old South Meeting House

Boston Athenaeum

This is a private library supported by members and $8 for students. This library is relatively simple and made of several huge halls. But the exhibition of Boston history was interesting.

The Mary Baker Eddy Library

This building is called a library but it's more like an exhibition seeking truth. While some of the exhibit looks religious it's actually nonreligious content. There is a huge globe inside which we can get into. Which is $5 for a student unfortunately I couldn't take pictures but the lighting was so nice.

Landscape

Food

America's food is so diverse, and Asian food is a healthy and cheap option. I eat Thai food and it was just around $15 with abundant vegetables.

Conclusion

Each building was so luxurious and had profound historical meanings.
