【Travel in America #7】New York! One World Observatory | American Museum of Natural History

Introduction

New York's buildings are so beautiful regardless of the time they were built. Although activity can be expensive, the museums especially those operated by the government are generally extremely big and worth their price.

Wall St

This is a charging bull near the coast of Wall St. The building on Wall St was so high and tons of people were flocking in this area.

This is the picture from a free museum on Wall St, National Museum of the American Indian. Although this museum is relatively small, the architecture is amazing and worth visiting if you walk near the area.

One World Observatory

There are two huge monuments at the ruins of the World Trade Center. So many people visit this site and the memorial museum.

This is the Oculus Center near the tower which has the station and shopping center. The organic architecture is so interesting and it's actually quite large.

Right after we enter the Observatory we see the huge display which shows the visitor from all around the world. It might imply how the world is connected as one world.

After we climb up the tower, we see the video cast to the three-dimensional wall. Surprisingly the wall is movable and finally reveals the skyline of the city.

While there is an extremely tall building near the central park, the building in the middle part of the city is quite short, which reflects the city design and inequality of New York City.

A city guide is regularly held at this circle display.

American Museum of Natural History

I didn't expect this museum to be so large, but this museum was also large and displayed diverse materials across many fields like animals, fossils, and minerals.

The stones in the museum were so large, and this one captured an entire chunk of quarts.

As a part of natural history, ancient civilization was also part of the exhibition.

Scenery

Although people don't celebrate New Year so much like Japanese people do. They celebrate the Sunday right after Christmas.

Brooklyn Bridge is one of the most famous bridges in NYC and we can walk on the bridge. The scenery there was so beautiful because of the countless skyscrapers in the financial district.

The building near the Edge was newly built and the design of them was parametric design and so impressive.

Food & Souvenir

While most stores don't have any food souvenirs, they have very unique ones like the President's mag cup and duck-shaped Statue of Liberty.

Souvenirs at the shop are generally expensive but the ones at the stall were so affordable starting from $1.

We step by New York Burger and get a burger with a lot of meat. It was just $15 even though it's located just in the middle of NYC.

Conclusion

New York is an amazing city that has developed while preserving traditional buildings. Kyoto has banned skyscrapers but New York has integrated them inside. Historically the newest city is easier to develop like California and Singapore but New York is still keeping its economy so far. How they preserved extensive infrastructure built centuries ago is interesting and I want to do further investigation on how the historical city continues to grow. While inequality has not been solved, donations from wealthy individuals play an important role in education for citizens. Also, another surprising thing in New York is there are so many commodities with letters I love NY. I'm not sure actually many people love New York, but having a patriot might be also a key factor for city development.
